Hello
I’m Rory. Based in Edinburgh, I work as a technical partner for design-led agencies and innovation studios. Human-centred practice such as co-design, user research, observation, all create a wealth of insight. I help make sure it doesn’t get lost in technical design and implementation.
Working independently with clients since 2009, I’ve spent much of that time as a hands-on full-stack developer, taking early ideas through to production for startups, agencies, universities, and the public sector. Alongside delivery I’ve trained and mentored others in software development and open data. I’ve collaborated closely with designers and researchers on design-led and civic tech projects. These days my focus is partnering with studios on work that needs serious technical judgment.
